Texas barbecue is serious business. Families dissolve over differing methodologies, grudges hold tighter than a freshly washed pair of wranglers, and the bad blood boils thicker than smoke. Rattle Creek Meat Company aims to lighten the mood—and the load. They are the first Texas barbecue traveling roadshow, armed with a van, a custom-built smoker, and a positive attitude. With stints at Franklin and La Barbecue(two of Austin's prime barbecue outfits) the owners of Rattle Creek are taking their skills and knowledge(and meat) to the people, traveling cross-country and hosting pop-up barbecue parties for the hungry masses. Through a bright, playful, and lighthearted identity system, they communicate an atmosphere of laid-back food and fun, with just a hint of Whitesnake and Tab soda.
